Commissioned Art, 2014
This digital mural, entitled “Flower, Maize, Serpent” is a piece of art honoring the feminist princess Macuilxochitzin. It was commissioned by the Smithsonian Latino Center and is currently on display at “La Placita,” their virtual museum venue. The piece also honors the living cultural art of backstrap weaving that was taught to the princess in the 1400s and it continues to be taught to girls in Mesoamerica today.
